About Aliya Drakes

Aliya Drakes is a dedicated occupational therapist based in Trinidad and Tobago, passionate about helping children and families reach their full potential. With a career rooted in compassion and a drive to empower,...

Aliya works closely with children who have additional needs—ranging from autism, ADHD, and dyslexia to sensory processing issues and feeding challenges. Her approach extends beyond individual therapy, engaging families, schools, and caregivers to create supportive environments.

Aliya is the author of It Takes a Village: A Caribbean Parent’s Guide to Supporting Your Child with Unique Needs, a practical and heartfelt resource that addresses behavioral differences, potty training, picky eating, and more. Her work spans both in-person and virtual formats, including school visits, webinars, and online consultations. Always evolving, she is now expanding her impact by launching a learning center that merges therapy and education under one roof.

With years of hands-on experience and a heart for learning, Aliya continues to shape brighter futures—one family at a time.
