About Trea Drake
Trea brings a unique blend of psychology, education, martial arts, mindfulness, and breathwork to his teaching. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis. For over 17 years,...
… he worked in the field of Behavior Analysis before transitioning into his passion as a full-time Krav Maga instructor, fitness instructor, mindfulness teacher, and breathing coach.
At Krav Maga Houston, Trea developed both the Youth Program and the invite-only Master Program, designed to cultivate young, balanced warriors. These programs integrate the 24 VIA character strengths, cognitive awareness around distortions and fallacies, situational awareness, non-violent de-escalation, anti-bullying strategies, and the courage to be an upstander instead of a bystander.
Trea began his contemplative practice in the mid-1990s, focusing on Vipassana and Metta meditation. His dedication to mindfulness led him to become a Certified Mindfulness Teacher through Mindful Schools, a Unified Mindfulness Trainer, MMTCP trainer, MindSize trainer, mPEAK coach, and HeartMath coach. He is deeply passionate about guiding others to discover the same life-changing benefits of mindfulness that have enriched his own life.
His exploration of the synergy between meditation and breathwork has been a defining part of his journey. Trea is a BREATHE Certified Coach with Dr. Belisa Vranich and has also completed certifications with Life Awareness Project, XPT Performance Breathing, Breathing for Warriors, and Jon Paul Crimi. He teaches breathing exercises through a practical, individualized approach, helping people optimize their breathing for better health, performance, and well-being.
Trea is also an instructor with Intentional Communication by Cynthia Kane, where he helps people break free from conditioned communication patterns, improve their relationships, and build the courage and freedom that come from authentic expression.
At the heart of Trea’s mission is the belief that by developing the body through martial arts, the mind through meditation and breathwork, and actions through intentional communication, individuals can thrive and live fully into their human potential.
