About Steven Morgan

Steven Morgan is a multi-talented comedian, improviser, storyteller, actor, writer, and musician, with appearances on Australia’s ABC and the UK’s BBC. Based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Steven has built a global comedy career with performances across Europe, the UK, and Australia,...

…earning a reputation as both a versatile performer and a master of his many crafts.

Global Comedy Performer

Steven has performed at top comedy clubs and festivals around the world, sharing the stage with renowned comedians like Stephen Carlin, Damien Power, and Mel Buttle. His standout solo shows, Mystery Box Of Mystery and Placeholder, have entertained international audiences.

A pioneer in immersive theatre, he co-wrote and starred in the hit production Cluedo! The Interactive Game for the Anywhere Theatre Festival.

TV, Radio, Podcasts & Script Work

Steven was a regular guest on ABC Brisbane programs such as Eat The Week and Hi Fidelity, and ran the popular Comedy Commentary Cinema night. He was also a script editor for the sketch show Brisburn, featured in the Brisbane Comedy Festival 2018.

His stand-up comedy style has been described as:

“Robin Williams on cocaine, times by three.” — Out Of Order Podcast

With a confident stage presence and a flair for absurdity, Steven combines the surrealism of Sam Simmons, the dry wit of Stewart Lee, and the high-energy antics of Chris Farley. Whether opening, headlining, or emceeing, Steven adapts seamlessly to any comedy line-up.

Acting & Voice Work

Steven has appeared in the ITV sitcom Professor T and played a lead role in the feature film Drack. He has also done voiceover work and was featured on BBC’s The One Show, performing at the live storytelling event Cringe.

Music, Multimedia, and Viral Creations

Steven fronted the electronic rock band Neon Highwire, known for their eccentric music videos (all directed by him) and critically acclaimed 2013 album Relate. He’s known for quirky viral projects such as:

  • Entering a Boys Noize remix contest using only his voice
  • Creating a theme song for the viral blog Kim Jong Il Looking At Things

Music Journalism & Interviews

As a music journalist, Steven has contributed to publications like The AU Review, DIY Mag, and All Things Loud. He’s interviewed artists such as Idles, Al Murray, and Dan The Automator. His expose on 90s British band My Vitriol became the most-read article of the year on Drowned in Sound, sparking a public response from the band.
