Global Comedy Performer

Steven has performed at top comedy clubs and festivals around the world, sharing the stage with renowned comedians like Stephen Carlin, Damien Power, and Mel Buttle. His standout solo shows, Mystery Box Of Mystery and Placeholder, have entertained international audiences.

European Comedy & Improv Scene

Since relocating to The Netherlands in 2018, Steven has become a regular on the English-language comedy circuit across mainland Europe. He hosts the popular LYFAO comedy night in Nijmegen, and has performed at major festivals such as:

  • The Edinburgh Fringe
  • Utrecht Comedy Festival
  • Amsterdam Improv Festival (2024 & 2025)

A seasoned improviser, Steven was Head of Learning at Amsterdam’s easylaughs, where he designed curriculums for their improv and stand-up courses. He’s taught and performed numerous longform and shortform formats and led corporate workshops for clients like Zoom, Nike, and Cargill.

In Brisbane, Steven founded the Bris Funny Fest, an annual fringe comedy festival with over 100 shows. He also performed in multiple sold-out shows at the curated Brisbane Comedy Festival 2017. A pioneer in immersive theatre, he co-wrote and starred in the hit production Cluedo! The Interactive Game for the Anywhere Theatre Festival.

TV, Radio, Podcasts & Script Work

Steven was a regular guest on ABC Brisbane programs such as Eat The Week and Hi Fidelity, and ran the popular Comedy Commentary Cinema night. He was also a script editor for the sketch show Brisburn, featured in the Brisbane Comedy Festival 2018.

His stand-up comedy style has been described as:

With a confident stage presence and a flair for absurdity, Steven combines the surrealism of Sam Simmons, the dry wit of Stewart Lee, and the high-energy antics of Chris Farley. Whether opening, headlining, or emceeing, Steven adapts seamlessly to any comedy line-up.

Acting & Voice Work

Steven has appeared in the ITV sitcom Professor T and played a lead role in the feature film Drack. He has also done voiceover work and was featured on BBC’s The One Show, performing at the live storytelling event Cringe.

Music, Multimedia, and Viral Creations

Steven fronted the electronic rock band Neon Highwire, known for their eccentric music videos (all directed by him) and critically acclaimed 2013 album Relate. He’s known for quirky viral projects such as:

  • Entering a Boys Noize remix contest using only his voice
  • Creating a theme song for the viral blog Kim Jong Il Looking At Things

Music Journalism & Interviews

As a music journalist, Steven has contributed to publications like The AU Review, DIY Mag, and All Things Loud. He’s interviewed artists such as Idles, Al Murray, and Dan The Automator. His expose on 90s British band My Vitriol became the most-read article of the year on Drowned in Sound, sparking a public response from the band.
