Jonathan Small is an award-winning author, journalist, producer, and podcast host. He has worked as a multimedia storyteller for such top media companies as The New York Times, Hearst, and Condé Nast and has held executive roles at Glamour, Stuff, and Entrepreneur and regularly contributes to The New York Times, TV Guide, Cosmo, Details, Maxim, and Good Housekeeping. He is the former “Jake” advice columnist for Glamour magazine and the “Guy Guru” at Cosmo...
…In 2020, he launched a new podcast production company called Strike Fire, which offers full-service podcast production and consulting services to high-profile clients, including the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and Purely Elizabeth.
Jonathan’s upcoming book, Write About Now: 30 Authors on Origin Stories, Creative Inspiration, and the Birth of their Bestsellers is based on the popular podcast of the same name. He has also edited two bestsellers: Emotional Intelligence and The Science of Success.
Jonathan’s storytelling expertise extends to a variety of platforms. As VP of Content for the Game Show Network, he produced original digital video series. Before working at GSN, Jonathan was Chief Creative Officer at Defy Media and at DanceOn, a YouTube-funded dance and pop culture channel co-owned by Madonna. His true crime podcast Dirty Money chronicles the exploits of financial criminals.
Jonathan has moderated and spoken on numerous panels and TV shows on such diverse topics as successful branded content strategies, writing for millennials, and stories that stick. He has taught journalism courses at NYU and coached executives on improving their media skills.
