Tinesha Cherry-
Tinesha Cherry is a wife, mother of two, career woman, volunteer, author, poet, speaker, leadership trainer, life coach and entrepreneur. In addition to having a highly successful and satisfying 21 year career as a federal law enforcement officer (where she currently serves as a senior level manager), Mrs. Cherry also dedicates a countless number of hours volunteering her time to the motivation, encouragement and inspiration of others through poetry.
Mrs. Tinesha Cherry specializes in writing and presenting tailor made poetry for any occasion. With a collection of original and thought provoking poems, Mrs. Cherry uses her gift of motivational speaking through poetry to empower others, strengthen her community, bridge barriers, highlight issues and identify solutions to address real concerns that plague our society. Mrs. Cherry has written and published numerous poems and has performed her poetry in a number of open forums in front of both small and large audiences (upwards of 15,000 plus). Mrs. Cherry was honored to perform one of her poems written and dedicated to the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., at a peace gathering where she opened up for keynote speaker, Martin Luther King III. This same poem was presented to and accepted by the King family as her gift to them. Many of Mrs. Cherry’s poems have received national attention, as they have been featured in national publications and introduced in national training courses.
Mrs. Tinesha Cherry is the author of “I Was Born To Lose, But I Chose to Win”, a book where she tells her own powerful story of overcoming extreme adversity (living in poverty, being abandoned by her mother, never knowing her father, being subjected to physical, mental and emotional abuse and molestation and enduring the foster care system before finally being adopted), to serve as an example of what can be achieved through perseverance.
Mrs. Cherry is also the author of the upcoming book “FURTHERMORE: Coming Out Of The Shadows, a book that helps women achieve greatness both in their personal and professional lives by teaching them to be bold, brave, brilliant, beautiful and balanced. Throughout her book, Mrs. Cherry gives women the tools, knowledge, support and encouragement needed to embrace a winning attitude, adopt a fighting spirit and develop a strong sense of self-worth. With the help of Mrs. Cherry’s book, women everywhere will learn how to transition beyond the challenges and obstacles of the present, toward a future full of opportunity and optimism.
Mrs. Cherry is also the founder of Project D.R.E.A.M. (Delivering Results Effectively to Advance Myself), an organization dedicated to promoting growth, prosperity and greatness in adolescent girls and young women everywhere, regardless of age, race, social standing or economic status. Through her work with Project D.R.E.A.M., Mrs. Cherry works to help build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women and girls within her community by expanding their outlook on life through education, leadership and direction.
Constantly searching for new ways to continue to share her passion, enthusiasm and knowledge with others, Mrs. Cherry pioneered a training course aimed at providing leadership development for first and second line Supervisors. To date, Mrs. Cherry and her team have traveled across the country providing training to hundreds of supervisors and managers from multiple different agencies throughout the federal government. The positive feedback regarding this training has been consistent regardless of the position, time in service, time in management or agency affiliation of the individual attending the training.
