Daniel Bishop-
My Name is Daniel Paul Bishop. I was birthed into a musical family so I guess music was a part of my nature. From as early as I can remember I was fiddling with musical instruments, I had my first cuatro at the age of 3 years which I destroyed by hitting it on the step. It cost $300 Trinidad dollars in those days, which was a lot of money not to mention my mom was upset (hahahahaha). Growing up I was overpowered by music, my mum was the keyboardist in church, my dad was and still is the Worship Leader in Church and my elder brother was the bass player, turn keyboardist in my church also. All three brothers and one sister are into music very heavily. My youngest brother Gideon is a member of my band! Coming through school, I always stood out in the music class and from an early age, I had made up my mind that I wanted to be a musician when I grew older. My school days were very easy. Playing the drums was my first love and the first instrument I played in church, if given the chance I’d still be a drummer! The passing away of our keyboardist at the time shifted my elder brother to the piano and I moved from the drums to the bass. Bass playing became something I loved and I can clearly remember in the early 90’s being able to play all Abraham Laboriel’s songs note for note! Then the shift took place again. My brother began working shift and was absent from church a lot so I was thrown on the keyboard around 1997. I don’t know what happened between 1997 and 2007 but I must truly give thanks to the Almighty and Powerful God. Thru this opening I was able to travel the world as a keyboard player. While doing that God blessed me with a home studio where I was able to work with quite a number of the musicians in Trinidad and Tobago-Clifford Charles, Francis Prime, Michael Boothman, Tamba Gwindi, Jerry Howai and may others. For the past 3 years, I was a member of the band Sherwin Gardner and Reflections of Christ. That in itself was another medium where by I was able to travel and meet many people in the ministry to which I can only say Give Thanks to the Most High. In addition, I have been involved with the Local Gospel Song Festival Committee in Trinidad and Tobago working as one of the keyboard players there for the past 7 years. In those 7 years, I saw a lot of the talent and gifts that we have here in this beautiful Island. At present, I’m just focused on producing and recording great listening material for the world. My prayer is that God continue to open doors and to the musicians coming up and want to make this your life, Just keep God in your life and put him first above all others and trust me your gift will make room for you!! God Bless You!
