  • David Blay Tapia: The Human Element: A #12minconvo on Journalism, Technology, and the Power of Connection /Ep 3255

About David Blay Tapia

Since 1996, I’ve worked in media and journalism, with a strong focus on sports communication. Over the years, I have collaborated with top athletes and leading organizations, helping them communicate with the media in a newsworthy and impactful way. As a result, I have supported clients in achieving positive brand visibility that extends beyond traditional advertising...

…Moreover, my experience includes guiding individuals and businesses on how to improve their presence through thoughtful storytelling and strategic messaging.

Broadcasting and Written Contributions

In addition to consulting, I am an active sports broadcaster, regularly covering events every weekend on Radio Marca. This role allows me to stay closely connected to the sports industry while keeping audiences informed and engaged.

Furthermore, I contribute articles to Welcome to the Jungle, where I explore modern workplace topics such as teleworking, productivity, talent development, and work-life balance. These written pieces enable me to share insights with a wider professional audience across various sectors.

Speaker and Workshop Leader on Remote Work

Beyond journalism and broadcasting, I also lead keynote presentations and training workshops on the topic of remote work. I’ve delivered sessions throughout Spain and Latin America, helping professionals and organizations embrace flexible work practices that improve both productivity and personal well-being.

In addition, I draw from real-world experience to address common challenges and offer practical solutions for remote collaboration and communication.

Academic Contributions Across Multiple Universities

My passion for communication extends to the academic world as well. I serve as a professor in several prestigious master’s programs, where I teach courses in Press Offices, Communication Strategies, and Social Media. These programs include:

  • Master in Management of Sports Entities – Polytechnic University of Valencia
  • Master in Sport and Active Tourism – Polytechnic University of Valencia
  • Master in Sports Coaching – Florida Universitaria
  • Master in Management and Administration of Sports Entities – Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM)
  • Master in Digital Business – IEBS School

As a result, I am able to share my real-world expertise with students preparing for dynamic careers in communication and sports leadership.

Published Author and Advocate for Teleworking

Alongside my media and academic work, I have contributed to several books and publications that reflect my values and interests. These include:

  • Co-author of Every Day the Sun Rises. Y si no sale, ya me encargo yo de sacarlo, a biography of Paralympic athlete David Casinos
  • My first solo book, ¿Por qué no nos dejan trabajar desde casa? (Why Don’t They Let Us Work from Home?), which is available as an e-book and print-on-demand
  • In 2019, I co-wrote the fable El viaje del equilibrista with Daniel Abad Casanova
  • In 2021, we released Un extraordinario don, the first illustrated book based on the life of Paralympic athlete Héctor Cabrera

Each of these projects highlights the power of storytelling to inspire, educate, and advocate for meaningful change.

A Mission to Humanize Communication and Work

Bringing together my background in media, education, public speaking, and authorship, I am deeply committed to helping others communicate more authentically. I am especially passionate about promoting work-life balance through teleworking and supporting professionals in developing healthy, productive careers.

In everything I do, I aim to share tools and insights that empower others to tell their stories, connect with their audiences, and work with purpose.
