  • Rusti Lehay: From Bullied to Beloved: One Woman’s Journey to Finding Her Voice and Inspiring Others /Ep 3523

About Rusti Lehay

Rusti first appeared as a storyteller on Popcorn Playhouse at six years old, continuing to write privately after traumatic events in her teens turned life into a maze. After four encouraging University professors, she took her writing and story-telling seriously. From performing in the Stroll of Poets, she went on to write for newspapers and magazines, and win short story and poetry contests. Rusti has been published in numerous literary journals...

…As a global editor, book and writing coach, using her collaborative/immersive editing methods, writers both novice and seasoned, craft and tweak their writing projects going on to become published. She has edited international best-selling compilation books.

She has facilitated writing events for the Edmonton Youth Emergency Shelter, the Boyle Street McCauley Centre for disenfranchised women and volunteered with Federally Sentenced women.

Currently, Rusti is most often found glued to her desk, and devotes time to her own writing projects, though she sneaks out to appear and win second place at local story slams, speak at events, offer workshops and regularly irk family members by not answering calls when she is writing.

Her primary mission, honed through a decade-plus of teaching weekly creative writing classes, creating over 230 Friday Inspiration Boost YouTube videos and offering five years of online writing retreats, is to guide healing and self-awareness through the written word, inspire, provide value and make writing fun for anyone. She adores creating safe spaces for extremely talented creatures, especially those who don’t know their talents yet!
