  • Selena Templeton: Exploring the Power of Freelance Writing and Cultural Shifts /Ep 3065

About Selena Templeton

Selena Templeton is a freelance writer and editor who's been enjoying the freedom of this working lifestyle since 2014. Despite earning an English degree that people warned her would make her obsolete in today's "anyone can write on the Internet" world, she has had no problem making a living with the written word...

…After working for two years in the Canadian publishing industry, she moved to California for the opportunities (and the sunshine!), and after six years at The Hollywood Reporter, she went freelance.

She writes, ghostwrites and edits (prose and scripts) for a variety of clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including entertainment, health, relationships and digital marketing. Although she loves her work as a freelancer, her true passion is creative writing, so she’s always working on a novel, short story or screenplay.

One subject that’s always been important to her is the idea of true diversity and inclusion (race, age, gender, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, points of view, etc.), and she spent three years as the host of the Diverse IT podcast for ITSPmagazine in the cybersecurity industry.

The current chapter in her life has taken her to Spain, where she continues to work as a freelancer while learning Spanish and indulging in the fantastic tapas and vino!
