  • 1338:Ravi Jayagopal is the the Co-founder & Co-developer of DigitalAccessPass.com

Ravi Jayagopal-

Ravi Jayagopal: My name is Ravi Jayagopal. I’m the Co-founder & Co-developer of DigitalAccessPass.com, a membership plugin & marketing platform for WordPress. I launched my first website in 1997, and I’ve been selling digital products online for the past 18 years. I have consulted and coached thousands of clients and helped them create a profitable online business using digital products, membership sites and recurring subscriptions.

I was the first Indian (back when I was still living in India) to sell a physical book online to an international market, way back in 1998. After failing at 2 brick-n-mortar businesses in India, and looking for more opportunities in the online world, I moved from India to New York in 2000, taking on a programming job. As a hobby, working nights and weekends, I developed and marketed the world’s first download protector software for Paypal and ClickBank.

In 2007, I wrote my first book called “No Business Like E-Business” which went on to become an Amazon category best-seller at the time. I invented “Content Dripping” and in 2008, created the world’s first membership plugin for WordPress, Digital Access Pass (DAP), that was the first software ever to do content dripping.

I am the host of a podcast at SubscribeMe.fm where I talk about the making, marketing and monetizing of online digital content.

I am also the author of a book by the same name, “Subscribe Me” at http://SubscribeMe.fm/book/

I’ve been fired from 2 jobs because I was too entrepreneurial. I was basically holding my breath and living in somebody else’s body for 9 years – the time it would eventually take to get a “Green Card” and start my own full-time business and follow my passion. I slept for 4-5 hours a night for most of those years, worked late nights and weekends, to survive a job that I hated even though I was too darn good at it and made a heck of a lot of money doing it. And I had to do my “side business” only after completing all of the responsibilities of the day as an employee, father and husband. I gave up every imaginable hobby for many years, and my little business consumed me and became my only hobby, my secret indulgence, my guilty pleasure, my “take a break” task, my life and soul. I literally lived the cliche of pouring “blood, sweat and tears” into my passion.

Coming from humble beginnings in India, I am today a successful full-time entrepreneur, and through my family foundation in India, my wife and I give back as much as we can, to Indian children and communities in extreme poverty. And my software helps tens of thousands of entrepreneurs around the world protect their intellectual property, and helps monetize their knowledge, in every way they can dream up.

I live in San Diego, California with my beautiful wife Veena, who is the other co-founder & co-developer of DAP, 2 amazing kids, and a male dog inexplicably named Vanilla!

Oh, and I am also officially the “Coolest Geek On The Planet” (search Google for those keywords and you’ll see 🙂
