  • Pat Miller: Rebuilding Life After Loss, One Step at a Time /Ep3740

About Pat Miller

Pat Miller is the founder and owner of Blue Diamond Construction, a New Jersey-based commercial metal framing company. She established the business in 2016 after the heartbreaking loss of her husband and business partner, Ray, to cancer. Despite the personal pain, Pat pushed forward with strength and determination...

…Over 30 Years of Industry Experience

Pat brings over three decades of experience in the construction industry. She began her career with RPM Construction, the company she and Ray built together. Today, she stands as the sole owner of Blue Diamond, leading a skilled team and delivering exceptional results across the state.

In fact, Pat has worked directly on countless job sites throughout New Jersey. As a metal framer and value engineer, she collaborates closely with engineers, architects, developers, and electricians. Her projects include hospitals, medical centers, restaurants, apartment complexes, office buildings, and shopping centers.

Moreover, her company has played a vital role in the revitalization of Asbury Park, contributing to several high-profile commercial developments.

Rising from Personal Tragedy

During a span of just three years, Pat lost her husband, both parents, and a brother. Naturally, this was an incredibly challenging time in her life. For a while, it seemed like she might lose her business too.

However, instead of giving up, Pat chose to turn her grief into growth. She wrote a powerful memoir titled Kicking Karma’s Ass: Unbelievable Stories of Strength, Resilience and Perseverance, All Told with a Twist of Humor. This international bestseller details how she rebuilt her life and career—with humor, grit, and heart.

Inspiring Others Through Her Story

Since publishing her book, Pat has received heartfelt messages from readers around the world. They’ve shared how her story gave them hope and strength. This outpouring of support has also led to public speaking opportunities, allowing Pat to motivate others facing tough times.

She reminds audiences that even when life doesn’t go as planned, it can still turn out better than they ever imagined.

Recognized for Her Achievements

Pat’s work and resilience have not gone unnoticed. She was recently honored as a:

  • 2024 Woman to Watch by South Jersey Magazine
  • Outstanding Woman Builder by the Women Builders Council
  • Featured subject of a six-part interview on Spotlight NJ with News12’s Della Crews
  • Profiled in the business section of the Asbury Park Press
  • Winner of the International Impact Book Award for Inspiration

A True Jersey Girl

Born and raised in New Jersey, Pat has called Jackson home for many years. She raised two sons there and shared her life with her loyal 18-year-old Bichon Frise, Sabrina.

Through her work in construction, writing, and speaking, Pat Miller continues to inspire others to rebuild, rise, and lead with heart.
