Marty Vids is a seasoned small business owner that started working in a Pascoe Vale milk bar at the age of 7. Marty was empowered by his parents to run the bread stand where he quickly developed an appreciation of people, business and money.
Being terrible at school Marty decided if he could not fit the education system he would need to develop a system that worked for him and added value to everyone in his path.
In his teenage years Marty immersed himself in 3 key passions that made all the difference –
A love of sports which fueled his determination and competitive spirit.
Playing chess which taught him how to think beyond just the next move.
Most importantly stand up comedy which developed his creativity, resilience, preparation and courage in life and business.
Inspired by the likes of Robin Williams, Billy Connolly, Eric Bana, Vince Sorrenti, Richard Prior and Steve Martin (just to name a few) Marty challenged himself to perform his first ever Stand Up Comedy Gig at the age of 17 in 1989 at The Star and Garter Hotel in South Melbourne which lead to over 250 live shows over 7 years. This then evolved into running his own successful Stand Up Comedy night rooms by the age of 19.
It’s this versatility, flexibility and change of perspective that has seen him start up and successfully exit 3 companies in the finance broking industry and achieve what 5% of Australian’s ever achieve in annual gross revenues of 1 mill + with 40% net profit.
Life is all about the courage of taking on new experiences, then sharing those experiences and ideas to build brighter futures for all.
Marty is the host of an international podcast and shares incredible insights and strategies of great performance by interviewing remarkable guests doing interesting things on “The Marty Vids Show”.
Marty also inspires everyday people everyday through the 40 day challenge where people choose themselves and focus on an activity for 40 minutes a day for 40 days. Purpose, Immersion, commitment, accountability is the key to a remarkable life.
