Lisa Braithwaite, M.A. is on a mission to help purpose-driven business and nonprofit leaders deliver meaningful and memorable experiences for their audiences by ditching perfection and creating connection. She’s a speaking coach, trainer, and author of “Presenting for Humans: Insights for Speakers on Ditching Perfection and Creating Connection.” She mentors entrepreneurs and professionals to promote and grow their organizations through speaking.
Her approach to public speaking is influenced by her theater and education degrees, and 16 years providing community outreach, advocacy, and training in the nonprofit sector before starting her business in 2005.
She’s been hired by companies as diverse as Microsoft, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, UC Santa Barbara, Massachusetts Association of Realtors® and AgWest Commodities, for her unique approach to presentation skills training. She’s been interviewed for her public speaking perspective and expertise in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Men’s Health, Toastmaster Magazine, Nonprofit Communications Report, Inc.com and on numerous blogs and podcasts.
She’s a graduate of Women’s Economic Ventures’ Smart Entrepreneurial Training and a member of the National Speakers Association. Residing in Ojai, California with her husband Rudy, she is mom to two rescue kitties, Ernie and Benjamin, who are Facebook and Instagram celebrities.
Lisa’s philosophy is that public speaking is fun, it’s an awesome way to express yourself creatively, and it offers an accelerated approach to developing an intimate and trusting relationship with your target audience.
