Dr. John Eric Baugher is a visionary author and teacher who inspires audiences with his insight, humor, and compassionate presence. Whether he is offering a keynote address at a conference, facilitating a workshop with a small group, or working one-on-one with clients, John invites playful exploration of how to realize deeper sources of meaning, purpose, and joy in our lives.

 Dr. Baugher is the author of Contemplative Caregiving: Finding Healing, Compassion, and Spiritual Growth through End-of-Life Care (Shambhala Publications, 2019). A culmination of 12 years of research, this book is an indispensable guide for end-of-life caregivers and for anyone seeking to transform experiences of caregiving and grief. 

 In his private practice, John offers emotional and spiritual support for caregivers and those grieving the death of a loved one or facing other losses in life. His integrative approach is grounded in his work on contemplative caregiving and his experience as a bereavement group facilitator, grief and loss educator, and spiritual care provider. John works one-on-one with clients via teleconferencing and in his offices in New Paltz, New York and Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

John is also a writing coach and editor, supporting authors in discovering and honing their own unique voice and purpose in writing.
