  • Ilona Seddik: on Building a Brand, Connecting with Customers, and Finding Success /Ep 4071

About Ilona Seddik

Born in Latvia and raised near the Arctic Circle—one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth—I developed resilience, ambition, and a deep drive to make a difference. Today, I’m a social impact entrepreneur, Ph.D. in Russian Law, author, educator, and marketing strategist,...

…on a mission to be a voice for women and immigrants worldwide.

Legal and Educational Expertise

Before relocating to the United States, I built a successful legal career in Russia, working for over a decade as a lawyer for the world’s top mineral fertilizer company. In 2009, I earned my Ph.D. in Russian Law, with a focus on constitutional rights in the Russian Federation. A natural analyst and researcher, I later pursued a second degree in teaching Russian language and world literature, eventually becoming a public school teacher.

From Immigrant to Entrepreneur

In 2019, I moved to the United States with two young children, $300, and no English. Within a few short years, I founded a thriving social media marketing business. Today, I help entrepreneurs and coaches build profitable content systems that amplify their online visibility and grow their personal brands.

Bestselling Author & Advocate

As an Amazon International Bestselling Author, my work has reached thousands. My Russian novel Cahokia (2019) supported survivors of domestic violence, a cause deeply personal to me. I’ve co-authored books with thought leaders like James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy) and Ken Honda (Happy Money), and spoken at prestigious events such as Columbia University in NYC.

In 2023, I was honored to be included in the Who is Who in America, recognizing my contribution to professional excellence.

Women Empowerment & Social Good

In 2020, I co-founded the Women Empowerment Club (WE Club)—a community of over 300 Russian-speaking women. The WE Club fosters personal growth, business development, and motherhood support. I also serve as the social media strategist for Shelter House, a nonprofit that aids survivors of domestic violence and homelessness. In 2024, I received the Creating New Beginnings Award for my impact-driven work.

Upcoming Projects

I contributed to Dare to Ignite Your Dreams (2024), sharing an honest account of immigration, resilience, and reinvention. My upcoming book, Be Yourself, Grow, and Sell (2025), is a step-by-step guide to building a profitable personal brand on social media—even if you’re feeling afraid, lost, or not enough.

Personal Life

I currently live in Virginia with my husband and two children. I find joy in simple routines like homemade family dinners, baking, and walking 11,000 steps daily. My life proves that no matter where you start, you can write your own success story—and help others write theirs, too.
