  • Gail Ward: Go Big or Go Home: A 12minconvo About Truth, Authenticity, and Courage /Ep 3499

About Gail Ward

Trinidadian-born Gail Ward is no stranger to transformation and taking bold risks. She approaches life, art, and work as if crafting a novel. “My parents always said that life should read like a novel… no one wants to read just one chapter—make it interesting!” And interesting it has been indeed!...

…From Dance to Multidimensional Storytelling

Gail’s creative journey began with dance, a passion she refined at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. Her love for storytelling through movement led her to explore choreography, acting, and writing, culminating in immersive multimedia performances. She has showcased her work at renowned venues such as DIA Arts Center, BAM, PS122, and the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies. Through these experiences, she not only mastered artistic expression but also developed strong organizational and production skills.

Breaking Into the Music Industry

Gail merged her creative vision with her exceptional organizational abilities to transition into the music industry. She began in A&R at Sony Music/Epic Records, contributing to the development of Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artists like Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Sade, Living Colour, Pearl Jam, and Michael Jackson. This led to key roles in Artist Development at DV8/A&M Records, Artist and Production Management at Levin Management, and A&R Administration & Production at Artemis/V2 Records.

Gail’s expertise extended to live show production, event management, and tour coordination, working with top-tier brands like SIRIUSXM, BET, MTV, Madison Square Garden, The House of Blues, and The Cutting Room.

Expanding into Global Special Events

As the music industry evolved, so did Gail. A chance encounter with a former colleague led her into high-profile international event management for Genesis Networks, a broadcast television company. She played a key role in global events like the Beijing, London, and Vancouver Olympic Games, the World Cup, the US Open, Wimbledon, the Oscars, and the US Presidential Elections.

Championing Diversity in Education

In her latest chapter, Gail is a Multimedia Content Producer at Scholastic Inc., creating impactful educational content. Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, she is committed to ensuring that all children see themselves represented in media and educational programming. “They are all beautiful and have so much to contribute to the unfolding of the world!”

The Future: Scarlet Ibis Studios

Gail Ward continues to push creative boundaries. Through her new venture, Scarlet Ibis Studios, she merges her extensive experience in multimedia production and creative consulting. This company is dedicated to meaningful storytelling, innovative content creation, and collaboration with like-minded creatives to make a lasting impact.

From dance to music, global events to educational media, Gail Ward’s journey is a testament to the power of creativity, adaptability, and purpose-driven storytelling. And the next chapter? She’s still writing it!

I HAVE A STORY VIDEO

“No limitations! I intend to continue to evolve, expand, educate and contribute the best I have to give and when all is said and done, I hope my book of life makes for a really fantastic read! “Stay tuned!
