Dr. Renée Gadsden is a distinguished New York-born art and cultural historian, celebrated for her deep expertise in Western art, Central European civilization, and women's studies. A graduate of Brown University with honors in Art History, she launched her international career after winning a prestigious academic prize for her work on the renowned architect Le Corbusier...
…Fluent in German and based in Vienna, Austria, Dr. Gadsden holds advanced degrees in sculpture (M.F.A.) and cultural and intellectual history (Ph.D.) from the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She has contributed significantly to the European art world as a curator, author, and educator, collaborating with leading institutions such as the Vienna Secession, Albertina Museum, Belvedere Museum, Jewish Museum Vienna, and the Museum of Modern Art Foundation Ludwig.
As a regular speaker on radio and television, Dr. Gadsden is known for her engaging public talks, with exhibition opening speeches that have earned a cult following in Austria. She currently serves on the artistic advisory board of the Ruth Baumgarte Art Foundation in Germany and advises international art projects from New York to Taiwan.
Dr. Gadsden is also a correspondent for “kunst:art”, the largest free art newspaper in German-speaking Europe, and a lecturer in Art Theory at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
She resides in Vienna with her husband, Austrian composer Rupert Huber, continuing to contribute to the city’s legacy as the “world capital of music.”
