About Doug Lawrence

Doug Lawrence is the Founder of TalentC® and Co-Founder of the International Mentoring Community (IMC). He has achieved the highest level of mentoring certification – the Certificate of Practice: Journey Mentor (IMC) – a distinction currently held by him alone...

…With a 25-year career as a Staff Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Doug retired in 1999 and dedicated his expertise to mentoring. He is a volunteer mentor with the Sir Richard Branson Entrepreneur Program in the Caribbean and with American Corporate Partners in the United States, supporting military personnel as they transition from military to civilian life.

Through extensive research, Doug has identified a vital role for mentoring as support for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). His combined experience in law enforcement and working with people affected by PTSD gives him a unique perspective on the intersection of mentoring and mental health. Doug’s mentoring practice is built on his proprietary Effective Mentoring Processes, designed to help individuals on their mental health healing journey.

After losing his wife, Debra, to cancer in 2021, Doug has devoted his life to helping others navigate grief, trauma, and healing. Since launching his mentoring practice in 2009, Doug has become an international speaker, mentor, and best-selling author. His books include:

  • The Gift of Mentoring (2014)
  • You Are Not Alone (2022)
  • The Silent Pandemic (launching 2024/2025)

Doug Lawrence continues to empower individuals and organizations worldwide through mentorship, mental health advocacy, and effective healing strategies.
