About Chelsea Chatts

Chelsea is a Southern author and Chattanooga, Tennessee content creator bringing the beauty of Appalachian living to life through storytelling, poetry, and advocacy. In 2022, Chelsea made a bold move—leaving behind the familiar to take a chance on herself. With her family by her side, she launched Chelsea Chatts, a lifestyle brand rooted in creativity, flexibility, and Southern charm...

…Founder of Chelsea Chatts & Advocate for the Modern South

As a passionate Author and Content Creator, Chelsea is inspired by the richness of Southern culture and uses her platform to speak up on critical issues like:

  • Environmental preservation
  • Women’s rights
  • Child safety and education in the South

Her content blends personal narrative with purpose-driven messaging—inviting her audience to experience the South with open hearts and open eyes.

Debut Poetry Collection: Mud Water Will Rise (April 2024)

In April 2024, Chelsea released her debut Southern poetry collection, Mud Water Will Rise. This powerful book explores:

  • The breathtaking Appalachian landscape
  • Creole cuisine and culinary traditions
  • Southern folklore, including ghost stories
  • The strength and warmth of Southern community values

But Chelsea doesn’t stop at storytelling. Her poetry also addresses the hard truths—challenging readers to have honest conversations about the social and cultural changes needed to build a more equitable South.

A Four-Part Poetry Series Continues in 2024–2025

Chelsea is currently expanding her work with a four-part poetry collection. The complete edition of Mud Water Will Rise is set to be re-released in Fall 2024, followed by three more books in 2025. Each volume will continue her mission to celebrate and critique the South through raw, resonant verse.

From the Bay Area to the Blue Ridge

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Chelsea holds a degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. Today, she calls Chattanooga, TN home, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and their husky—embracing a modern, elevated version of Appalachian living.
