About Andrew McCauley

From Hospitality to Digital Marketing: My Journey into Online Business

I've been working with businesses and teaching online marketing for many years—but my background might surprise you!

Early Tech Fascination

In the early 1970s, as a very young child in Australia, I saw my first electronic Tic Tac Toe machine—right in my own home. That moment sparked a lifelong fascination with computers and technology. By age nine,...

…I had already written my first computer program and knew I was destined to be a tech enthusiast.

17 Years in Hospitality and Real-World Marketing

After school, I landed a job in the hospitality industry, thinking it would last just a few months. Seventeen years later, I finally moved on—but not without valuable lessons.

In hospitality, marketing wasn’t optional. If you were bad at it, your restaurant, bar, or nightclub would be empty. I absorbed everything I could about marketing strategy and discovered how much I enjoyed the challenge.

Starting a Business and Embracing Social Media

In 2006, I launched my business consulting company. One of my first clients asked how to use Facebook for marketing. At the time, I didn’t even know what Facebook was! But that question started a new journey: learning everything about social media for business.

Since then, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to travel the world, teaching business owners across industries how to use online marketing and social platforms to grow their companies.

Global Experience and High-Level Coaching

While building my own business, I also worked with three large personal development companies. Over five years, I managed staff for their global seminars in eight countries. This gave me a front-row seat to some of the best international marketing strategies in the world.

In 2010, together with co-founder Heather Porter, we launched our Digital Media and Publishing Agency. Our mission was clear: help non-technical entrepreneurs get online, be found online, and build real authority.

We saw that the future would favor thought leaders who create content and share their message across multiple platforms.

Publishing, Podcasting, and Speaking

Since then, we’ve launched a podcast downloaded in over 100 countries, published three books—including an Amazon bestseller—and spoken at events and webinars worldwide.

I also lead a weekly mastermind for local business owners, where we dive deep into online marketing, digital tools, and brand strategy.

In 2011, I became a trainer and Director of Coaching for T. Harv Eker’s Ultimate Internet Bootcamp, helping entrepreneurs launch their own websites and grow online businesses for two years straight.

Life Outside the Office

When I’m not speaking or consulting, you’ll find me outdoors. I love snowboarding, surfing, and camping with my wife and our two boys. It’s how I recharge and stay inspired to keep learning and sharing.
