About Veronica Kirin
Veronica Kirin is an award-winning anthropreneur, author, and speaker. She focuses on social equity, LGBTQ rights, and women’s health innovation. As the founder of Asterisk Women’s Health and cofounder of Anodyne Magazine, Veronica works to improve women’s non-reproductive health and share FLINTA* health stories through art and personal experiences...
…Author and Researcher
Veronica is also the author of the award-winning book “Stories of Elders”, which documents how technology changed the lives of older generations. In addition, she created the “Stories of COVID” project, which recorded real-life stories during the pandemic as they happened.
Because of her groundbreaking work, Veronica has been recognized as a Forbes NEXT 1,000 Entrepreneur and one of BEQ’s 40 LGBTQ Leaders Under 40. She has also given two TEDx talks and speaks at events around the world.
Early Career and Humanitarian Work
Veronica graduated with honors in anthropology from Grand Valley State University. From the start, she wanted to work in nonprofits and humanitarian aid.
After college, she joined AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps and helped with disaster relief in the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. During this time, President George HW Bush personally presented her with the Spirit of Service Award, and she also earned Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Medals.
Transition to Entrepreneurship
Unfortunately, her time in disaster relief left her with PTSD. This experience prevented her from continuing her work in the nonprofit sector. However, she found a new path by launching her own nonprofit in 2010, which sparked her passion for entrepreneurship.
Later, she founded GreenCup Digital, an award-winning tech company, which she successfully exited in 2018. Today, Veronica combines her anthropology background and entrepreneurial experience to research and teach about paradigm shifts, social change, and self-care in business.
Passion for Speaking and Social Equity
Currently, Veronica travels the world speaking about social justice, technology, health, and entrepreneurship. Her work has been featured internationally, and her passion for documenting change and amplifying marginalized voices continues to inspire individuals, businesses, and communities.
