Dr. Tim Newman is a seasoned educator and sports industry professional with nearly 30 years of experience in sport management, athletic training, and sports marketing. A recognized leader in public relations, social media strategy, and sports leadership, Dr. Newman has taught students across the U.S. and internationally in countries including Botswana, Malaysia, and Thailand...
…A forward thinker and early adopter of digital trends, Dr. Newman authored Social Media in Sport Marketing—one of the first published books on the topic, over a decade ago. He also pioneered online learning in sports education, developing and teaching online courses for more than 20 years.
Today, he is the founder of Dream Chasers Management Group, where he helps individuals and organizations achieve success through proven marketing strategies, strategic planning, and effective communication. His newest offering, the Formula for Public Speaking, is a comprehensive, step-by-step course designed to help anyone master the art of confident and impactful public speaking.
Dr. Newman’s hands-on experience includes developing sports marketing campaigns for Towson University and multiple private businesses. He has worked directly with athletes at every level—from high school and collegiate athletes to Olympians and professional competitors.
He has played a key role in launching and growing youth sports programs, and serves on numerous sports boards and academic committees, contributing to the advancement of the field.
A lifelong competitor and passionate golfer, Dr. Newman is a Tour Director with the Golfweek Amateur Tour, organizing amateur golf tournaments in more than six U.S. markets. He is also the host of two podcasts:
