…Surviving five years of childhood sexual abuse and violence, Sonny struggled with unprocessed trauma, leading to multiple run-ins with law enforcement. At the age of sixteen, he was incarcerated for eighteen years—years marked by gang violence and survival behind bars.

His life took a profound turn during solitary confinement, where he met a Muslim man who guided him through the journey of self-reflection, forgiveness, and transformation. Over 19 months, Sonny dedicated more than 14,000 hours to personal development, reshaping his mindset and learning to release the pain of his past.

Today, Sonny shares these hard-won lessons through motivational talks, coaching, and his writing. He is an anti-bullying advocate with Boo2Bullying, a youth empowerment and suicide prevention organization. He also mentors incarcerated youth in Southern California and works as a re-entry coach with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition in Los Angeles.

Sonny lives in Palm Springs, California, with his wife, Claire, and their beloved pets. His mission is to help others break free from the cycle of trauma and rise into purpose, power, and healing.
