LaKena Dunham-
LaKena Dunham is the founder of a non-profit organization Hewalenamo Girls, Inc. Hewalenamo founded in 2010 means “Empower” and the 501(c)3 is dedicated to providing educational opportunities by financially assisting girls from impoverished families in developing countries; seeking to remove the obstacles that keep them from school or cause them to drop out.
As a teenager she suffered both physical and sexual violence, which left her voiceless and attempting to take her own life. It took years before she came to the place of forgiveness and recognized that she had the ability and power to create a new chapter in life. Her message now, “you can’t change your past chapters, but you have the power to change how your story ends.”
LaKena also an International Speaker, Best-selling Author and Woman Warrior Coach, offers practical life strategies, advice, resources and information to help women experience personal breakthroughs; using skills and strategies learned to help them move from paralysis to purpose. She wants every woman to live courageously and confidently, going after the dreams that God places in each of our hearts. That is true success!
She’s volunteered to serve in numerous community and non-profit organizations and has received numerous awards and recognition for her efforts to leave an indelible mark for girls and women around the world.
She resides near Dallas, Texas with her husband and children.
