Jude Klassen is a Canadian author and award-winning filmmaker best known for her bold, urban feature films Stupid For You and Love in the Sixth. Blending comedy, music, family dynamics, and themes of the Sixth Extinction, her films reflect a unique voice in contemporary independent cinema...

…Her short fiction has appeared in several respected Canadian literary publications. Her story Uncle Piotr was published in the Canadian Forum, while The Not-So-Secret, Secret Life of Angus McFee was shortlisted for the Writers’ Union of Canada Short Prose Competition. The collection was also supported by a Canada Council literary grant. Her story Western Alienation was shortlisted for both Toronto Life’s final Summer Fiction issue and This Magazine’s Great Canadian Literary Hunt. Another story, Food-Combining, was featured in The Vancouver Courier.

Jude’s debut short story collection, Toxic Shock and Other Family Gatherings, is available through major retailers including Amazon, Apple Books, and Barnes & Noble.

She is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC) and SOCAN, and is represented for film and television by the Jennifer Hollyer Agency.
