A Groundbreaking Career in Law Enforcement
Fidele became the first immigrant to join and work for the Abilene Police Department (APD) in Texas as a police officer. He also made history as the first member of the Banyamulenge ethnic group in the United States to serve the American community in this capacity.
Educational Achievements
While working for the APD, Fidele earned multiple degrees:
- B.A. in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University
- M.S. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University
- Ph.D. in Criminal Justice – Homeland Security from Liberty University
Author and Advocate
Dr. Sebahizi is also a published author of the memoir, Creating a Life from the Ashes.
