I’m Dr. Sidonia Shanica Sidonie-Volney, a proud native of beautiful Saint Lucia in the West Indies. I’m a wife, devoted mother of three wonderful children, and a passionate advocate for leadership, community impact, and personal growth...
…For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of leading a quasi-government organization, working to create positive change and inspire others to achieve their full potential.
My journey has been shaped by profound personal experiences — especially the loss of my father. Holding him in my arms during his last moments, I heard his final words:
“My girl, I want you to promise you will join the Sidonie legacy. Promise you will finish your doctorate, and promise you will go out there and inspire people.”
Those words ignited a fire within me. In March 2023, on my father’s birthday, I graduated with distinction in the USA, fulfilling the promise I made to him — a milestone that was unforgettable, meaningful, and transformative.
Despite criticism and challenges, I’ve turned adversity into motivation, using each obstacle as an opportunity to grow and evolve. This dedication to continuous learning, mindful living, and positive leadership drives my work and my writing today.
Beyond my professional life, I enjoy baking, cake decorating, and formulating natural deodorants and mosquito repellents. I also love bowling, golfing, and spending time by the ocean, soaking in the beauty of sunsets — moments that keep me grounded and inspired.
Through my book, “A Guide Through Mindfulness”, I offer practical tools, personal stories, and strategies to help readers embrace their own journeys, find balance, and live with greater purpose and awareness.
