Donna-Luisa Eversley: I love fixing things. My personal mantra is I can do All things because of the Christ who lives within me. Impossible is the street I walk over daily with my Jesus (2019 mantra). This is how I describe myself until 2017 –
“I’m a corporate business veteran, with practical experience in a diverse range of industries — Safety/ HVAC / FMCG /Industrial Equipment /and much more . Sales ,Marketing, Business Development & Coaching are combined to deliver over 30 years experience. As an entrepreneur and blogger (Dwordslayer) I’m right now living an adventure, and looking forward to the next opportunity to challenge mediocrity. “
In 2018, I did an audit of my life and realized that my goals have all been achieved, and new ones were needed. At 12 years I knew I was good at convincing people to buy my mom’s books she wrote. At 13, I discovered I was good at getting vacation jobs to help my mom and myself. At 16 I left home 2 days after writing my last o’level subjects and got a job before results were received – I was determined to never live and settle for the label of ‘poor’. My first job was for an Advertising Agency, and I lied about my age and home. I was homeless, living by friends and anyone who would take me in.
My first son was born when I was 18 years and my second at 19 years old. I do not believe abortion is a choice when adult decisions are made. I own my decisions – whatever the outcome.
I worked primarily in sales for my first 4 jobs over 6 years and got into business development in my 5th job – to prove I can do anything and achieve any goal set. I discovered a love for cold-calling and relationship building while strategising outcomes.
As an avid reader I knew academically I was very weak and taught myself through books on business, law, and romance novels. We are who we want to be when we live in the future reality. I always knew I would taste success, defeat, and resurrection, and kept preparing for NEXT ( best 4 letter word in business).
My 2 sons and 1 daughter have always been the ‘why’ in my life. They are ‘Why’ I am driven to fulfill my optimum capacity as a business woman, entrepreneur and mother. Helping others in anyway to elevate their life is a personal mission and pursuit. If I can inspire one person to smile or feel joy for a moment everyday, then I have added value to my space in this world. People make mistakes, but they must know and learn ‘how’ to get up.
I love social media and the power it gives to create opportunities execute and get things done. While recovering from an accident in 2014, used social media to help others and myself!
I live in Chaguanas for the past 14 years in my own home, but prior to that moved 23 times in my life in Trinidad!
I love to travel, and have been to Barbados, St Vincent & the Grenadines, St Lucia, Jamaica, Grenada, Antigua, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Suriname, London, Scotland, Michigan, New York, Miami, Texas, and Panama. I am presently a business development consultant.
