Dawn proudly calls herself a “Fruit Pot”—a term inspired by the main character in her award-winning debut picture book, The Little Pot. Just like Little Pot, Dawn sees herself as a vessel created by the Master Potter, designed to grow and share the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,...
…gentleness, and self-control.
While embracing her spiritual purpose, Dawn finds joy in helping others discover how they too can become fruitful vessels. However, like many, her journey to identity and purpose took time.
Before fully embracing her calling, Dawn searched for meaning in many roles—educator, wife, mother, fundraising director, sales manager, business owner, and even a school principal. For years, she defined her worth by what she was “holding,” such as job titles or responsibilities.
Eventually, she began to realize that her true value came not from what she held, but from what God was growing through her. As she surrendered to the Potter’s refining process—being filled and emptied repeatedly—her purpose became clearer.
Through her collection of children’s books, Dawn invites readers to experience the love and guidance of the Potter in everyday life:
Each book offers a deeper understanding of how God shapes us, not just for ourselves, but for the people we are meant to reach and inspire.
As a vessel for the Potter, Dawn shares her message at women’s events, Christian schools, homeschooling co-ops, writing conferences, and churches. Whether she’s blogging or speaking, her mission remains the same:
To help others discover their God-given identity, pour out without burning out, and shine without fear.
Her presentations and keynote speeches echo a powerful truth—God never stops using us, no matter our season or situation.
In addition to writing and speaking, Dawn leads a talented team of editors, illustrators, formatters, and marketers at EA Books Publishing. Through this role, she supports aspiring authors in telling their unique stories with excellence and authenticity.
