About Betty-Ann Pilgrim
Betty-Ann Pilgrim completed her Registered Nurse Training in Trinidad, in the mid-eighties. She then migrated to the United Kingdom, for some 20 years where she pursued Midwifery, Family Planning, Haemoglobinopathies and a Master of Science Degree in Social Anthropology of Children...
…and Child Development.
Betty-Ann returned home in 2008 and has held various posts since her return including-:
- Chief Nursing Officer / or National Administrator of Nursing Services for the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago
- Member of the Board of the Nursing Council of Trinidad & Tobago
- Nurse Manager/ Matron – San Fernando General & Teaching Hospital, Area Hospital Point Fortin
- Director of Nursing / Matron – Southern Medical Hospital
- Lecturer/ Clinical instructor at the University of the Southern Caribbean.
In her more recent projects, Betty-Ann co-authored the book “Waiting in the Pit”, a compilation of inspirational stories by visionary author Hillette Virgo. She also serves as a Menopause Advocate, a role she takes seriously in supporting women on their journey through menopause. Consequently, she conducts the Menopause Minute on Facebook, a one-minute information-caption about menopause.
She is married to Economist, Dr. Stephen Pilgrim, who is Dean of the School of Business at Walla Walla University, Washington, USA, and also Doctoral Professor at Montemorelos University in Mexico. Together, they have one teenage son, who is a University Freshman. Betty-Ann is an avid reader, and has been known as a strong contributor to events of Women’s and Family Life Ministries, throughout Trinidad and Tobago, and beyond.
